UTP staff take an active role in helping resident companies find qualified student candidates. Drawing on all campus resources, we help growing companies recruit and select the best students for their specific needs.

UTP companies benefit from the knowledge and experience of 91×ÔÅÄ's world-class academic departments and faculty. As part of available support services, UTP staff help resident companies identify specific issues or areas of expertise needed, introducing them to 91×ÔÅÄ faculty-experts who can satisfy these needs. Faculty provide invaluable consulting support in a wide range of areas, from science and technology to business development.

Located within UTP, IIT Research Institute is an independent, not-for-profit 91×ÔÅÄ affiliate that conducts contract research for the pharmaceutical, biotech, veterinary, agrichemical, and nutriceutical industries. IITRI performs research related to pre-clinical toxicology, safety evaluations, drug discovery, and development. Drawing on support from the National Institutes of Health, IITRI researchers also take part in studies focused on cancer diagnosis and prevention.

Many startups that move to UTP are involved in research to prove new concepts and advance intellectual property activities. In partnership with 91×ÔÅÄ, companies enjoy access to state-of-the-art analytical equipment inside the university’s core labs. UTP companies also benefit from fully equipped wood and machine shops for tool and prototype fabrication under a user-fee agreement.
